Engineering

Boasting a driving range of up to 318 miles1 with standard RWD, the IONIQ 5 is prepared to let your adventurous side run wild when you’re in its driver’s seat. Furnished with the available dual-motor system, this model allows you to harness 320 horsepower and 446 lb.-ft. of torque. Hence, you’ll be able to get up to highway speeds on Interstate 710 without sweating one bit. During the work week, plug it into a Level 1 or Level 2 charger overnight to prepare the battery for your commutes. The latter method will get the power level from 10 to 100 percent in as little as 5 hours and 40 minutes2. There’s no need to feel anxious about the battery dwindling while you’re out and about, since this car is compatible with DC fast charging and even Tesla Superchargers! Using a DC ultra-fast charger can also add 178 miles of range3 while you take a quick 15-minute bathroom break.

Technology

The Los Angeles metropolitan area is notorious for its hectic traffic, but headaches behind the wheel will be few and far between when you’re helming the 2025 Hyundai IONIQ 5. That’s because its standard 12.3-inch touchscreen has an onboard navigation system4 that receives traffic flow and incident data through HD Radio™. As a result, if an accident causes your route to Dignity Health Sports Park to become congested, you’ll have the chance to find a different way altogether. Plus, if you need to recharge your laptop on the go, you won’t have to stop at a coffee shop just so you can use an outlet there, as the IONIQ 5 has available Vehicle-to-Load5 ports that can be used to power up all kinds of electronics and devices. When you sign up for the available in-vehicle Wi-Fi hotspot6, this car can even serve as your office on wheels.

Driver Assistance

You’ll feel double the amount of confidence piloting the 2025 IONIQ 5 than other vehicles, courtesy of its reassuring driver-assist features. Because a large share of crashes happen at intersections, Hyundai equipped this car with standard Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist with Car, Pedestrian, Cyclist Detection and Junction Turning7. When combined with the available Evasive Steering Assist8 function, the aforementioned technology can help you avoid impact via automatic braking and steering input. City parking can get extremely cramped, but thankfully, you can count on the standard Parking Distance Warning – Reverse and Forward9 to let you know if you’re getting too close to an obstacle. After parallel parking on the street, allow the standard Safe Exit Assist10 to aid you in disembarking when the coast is clear of oncoming traffic. Came here on New Year's Eve, and left with a new car!

Came here on New Year's Eve, and left with a new car! I had been casually looking around at a few Hyundai dealerships. Once I contacted Downey, they were quick to respond, knew exactly what they had, and were read to show me the car I had sent them the stock number for. Rob El Roz was wonderful to work with. He knew a lot about the car I was interested in, showed me each unique component of it, and was able to answer all my questions. If anyone is car shopping right now, you know just how hard it's been to find good deals and available stock. Always do your research and cost breakdown at home to have any idea of what will be discussed at the dealer. Rob and the rest of the Downey team were willing to work out a fair deal. Very happy I landed here, as many of the other dealerships were in a bit of disarray. Best of luck car hunting!

These guys are great people with great cars.

1. EPA-estimated 318 mile driving range for 2025 IONIQ 5 SE/SEL/Limited RWD; 290 mile driving range for 2025 IONIQ 5 SE/SEL AWD; 269 mile driving range for 2025 IONIQ 5 Limited AWD; 259 mile driving range for 2025 IONIQ 5 XRT AWD; and 245 mile driving range for 2025 IONIQ 5 SE RWD (Standard Range). All figures are EPA estimates and based on a fully charged battery. For comparison purposes only. Battery capacity decreases with time and use. Actual range will vary based on a number of factors, including vehicle options, driving conditions and habits, vehicle and battery's condition, battery temperature and outside temperature.

2. Approximately 7 hours and 20 minutes to charge from 10% to 100% on a 10.9-kW, 240V AC charger. Actual charging time varies based on a number of factors, including current battery charge level, output of the charging unit, vehicle and battery settings, battery temperature and outside temperature.

3. Approximately 20 minutes to charge from 10% to 80% on a 350-kW, 800V DC ultra-fast charger using the CCS adapter included with the 2025 IONIQ 5.  Actual charging time varies based on a number of factors, including current battery charge level, output of the charging unit, vehicle and battery settings, battery temperature and outside temperature.  Ultra-fast charging stations are provided by independent companies and availability is not guaranteed.

4. Never program while driving. GPS mapping may not be detailed in all areas or reflect current road regulations. On trim levels where navigation system is available but not a standard feature, it is available as part of a specific options package. Not available on all models. See dealer regarding availability.

5. Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) two-way charging will deplete battery and become inoperable once battery discharge limit reaches 20%. Not all electrical appliances will operate properly when using this feature. Do not use products that require a continuous power supply, and only use appliance under 16 amps. Additional limitations apply. See Owner’s Manual for more details.

6. Requires active data plan from Verizon and acceptance of Hyundai Motor America Connected Services Terms and Conditions. Coverage and service are not available in all areas. Wi-Fi hotspot is intended for passenger use only. Only use Wi-Fi and connected devices when safe to do so. See https://www.verizon.com/plans/connected-car/ for terms and conditions.

7. Standard on all trims. Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist with Junction Turning (FCA-JT) is intended to be a supplement to safe driving practices. The system is not designed to detect certain stationary objects such as trees or poles, and may not detect all vehicles, pedestrians, or cyclists under certain conditions. The system’s Junction Turning function operates when the vehicle’s left turn signal is activated, the vehicle is travelling between approximately 6-19 mph and the oncoming vehicle’s speed is between approximately 19-44 mph. The system is a driver assistance system and is not a substitute for safe driving. The driver is responsible for being attentive and maintaining control of the vehicle, and should not wait for the system's alerts before braking as there may not be sufficient time to brake safely. See Owner’s Manual for further details and limitations.

8. Standard on SEL, XRT and Limited trims. The Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist with Car, Pedestrian, Cyclist Detection, Junction Turning, Junction Crossing, Lane Change Oncoming, Lane Change Side and Evasive Steering Assist (FCA-Ped) is intended to be a supplement to safe driving practices. The system is not designed to detect certain stationary objects such as trees or poles, and may not detect all vehicles, pedestrians, or cyclists under certain conditions. The system is a driver assistance system and is not a substitute for safe driving. The driver is responsible for being attentive and maintaining control of the vehicle, and should not wait for the system's alerts before braking as there may not be sufficient time to brake safely. See Owner’s Manual for further details and limitations.

9. Standard on SE & SEL trims. Do not rely exclusively on Parking Distance Warning. Parking Distance Warning is a supplemental system and the driver must still be attentive and exercise caution when parking. See Owner's Manual for further details and limitations.

10. Standard on all trims. When the vehicle is parked, Safe Exit Assist (SEA) can alert the driver when a vehicle is approaching from behind. When Child Locks are active, SEA prevents initial disabling of the child safety locks if a vehicle approaching from behind is detected. SEA does not work in all situations and is not a substitute for driver or passenger attentiveness. Always be aware of your surroundings and attentive of approaching vehicles. See Owner's Manual for further details and limitations.
